The Supagas LPG cylinder size you purchase depends on intended use, the quantity of gas required, and delivery location. A good rule of thumb for cylinder capacity is that one kilogram equals approximately 1.96 litres of LPG.
Cylinder capacity refers to the cylinder’s volume: litres is technically the more correct terminology. For safety reasons, Supagas cylinders are filled to 80%, accounting for the expansion space (ullage) the LPG fills once heated. Cylinder dimensions are approximate: variations may occur due to manufacturing tolerances. Height includes the valve. Container sizes may vary from state to state.

Going on a camping adventure? #SupaSwap it! Supagas’ 3.7kg and 8.5kg LPG cylinders are perfect for trips outdoors.
Most often these sizes are used to power portable camping stoves, BBQs and gas generators. SupaSwap Gas Bottles can be swapped for free at your nearest SupaSwap branch.
The 45kg is a bestseller for residential usage, though it is used for some industrial purposes. While the size makes it easy to handle, its effects are long-lasting.
Supagas cylinders can be used for heating, hot water and cooking, making this a versatile alternative to fireplaces and reverse-cycle air conditioning units. This is an environmentally friendly way to power your home.
Supagas offers bulk LPG in 90kg, 190kg, 210kg and bullet tank sizes. Our tanks are made from welded steel, and are designed to withstand the pressures of heat expansion.
In its commercial usage, more liquid LPG generally needs to be vaporised, and so a larger vessel is required for expansion space (ullage). Industrial tank sizes weigh anything from 0.5 tonnes to 50 tonnes and more.
