Supa Stainless 98
This Stainless MIG gas is a very low oxidizing mix suited for all MIG Welding in the short circuit, spray and pulsed modes on all stainless and duplex materials. Compared with Helium three-part mixes which are; more costly and produce higher arc energy, Supa Stainless 98, when used on thin gage applications can provide;
- less material distortion,
- less weld burn through,
- less contact tip issues,
- improved arc stability,
- lower cost gas,
- more gas in the cylinder,
- less opportunity for stress corrosion cracks, hot crack, and micro cracks. When using Supa Stainless 98, on spray or pulsed applications, >4mm thick, you can expect cleaner welds, however when welding thinner gages keep in mind that most of the black or grey weld surface oxidation is occurring from the reaction of heated thin parts and the parts reaction with the oxygen in the atmosphere.
