Supagas and Royal Flying Doctor Service announce national partnership

July 1, 2026

Supagas has become a National Community Partner of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), forming a new national partnership with one of Australia’s most trusted essential healthcare organisations.

The partnership sits within Supagas’s new ‘Together We Can’ Community Engagement Program, a national framework created to focus the company’s community support where it can have a meaningful and measurable impact.

The program focuses Supagas’s support on three key charity partners – RFDS, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Guide Dogs SA/NT – spanning rural health, children’s health and independence for people with low vision or blindness.

For Supagas, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to safety, reliability and the regional communities that help keep Australia moving, while supporting access to essential care for the people who live and work there.

The RFDS delivers emergency aeromedical retrieval, primary healthcare and telehealth services for people living, working and travelling across rural, regional and remote Australia. Today, the Flying Doctor operates more than 90 aircraft and 23 bases nationwide, transporting more than 39,000 patients by air last year and providing more than 150,000 consultations across the country.

Supagas Managing Director Erol Arican said the partnership was a strong fit for the business, its people and the regional communities Supagas supports.

“Supagas has always believed in showing up for customers and communities, especially in parts of Australia where distance can make access to essential services more difficult,” Arican said.

“The Royal Flying Doctor Service plays a critical role in keeping regional and remote communities safe, connected and supported. We are proud to stand alongside RFDS as a National Community Partner and to contribute to the incredible work they do every day.

“Through our Together We Can program, we are putting more structure around how Supagas supports community organisations, so our investment is focused, purposeful and aligned with the values of our business. RFDS is an outstanding example of the kind of organisation we want to support: reliable, essential and deeply connected to the communities it serves.”

Royal Flying Doctor Service Federation Chief Executive Emma Buchanan welcomed Supagas as a National Community Partner:

“We are proud to welcome Supagas as a National Community Partner of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, united by a shared commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of regional and remote Australians. For many Australians, access to healthcare is not close by, and together we are working to ensure people in these communities can access the care they need. Partnerships like this enable us to continue delivering essential services across the country, and as we look ahead to our Centenary in 2028, we remain focused on strengthening the health and resilience of rural and remote communities.”

The Together We Can Community Engagement Program gives clearer national structure to Supagas’s long-standing community support. It has been designed to guide how Supagas works with community organisations and local initiatives, helping ensure support is aligned with the company’s values, national footprint and ability to make a practical difference.

Arican said the program gives Supagas a stronger platform for long-term community engagement.

“Across Australia, our people live and work in the communities we serve,” he said. “Together We Can is about bringing that community spirit together under one clear program, so we can support the right organisations in the right way and make a stronger impact over time.”

Through the partnership, Supagas and RFDS will work together on awareness, engagement and fundraising initiatives, including opportunities for Supagas employees and customers to learn more about the essential work of the Flying Doctor.
