Supagas announces first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

July 6, 2026

Supagas has launched its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), formalising the beginning of a deeper reconciliation journey across the business.

Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, a Reflect RAP is the first stage of the RAP framework. It is focused on building awareness, deepening cultural understanding, developing respectful relationships and establishing the internal foundations for meaningful action in the future.

For Supagas, the launch marks an important step in recognising the role the business can play in supporting reconciliation across its workplaces, operations and community relationships.

Operating across Australia, Supagas acknowledges that its work takes place on the lands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Reflect RAP gives the business a practical framework to better understand its sphere of influence and how reconciliation can become part of its culture, ways of working and engagement with the community.

Supagas Managing Director Erol Arican said the Reflect RAP was an important first step for the business.

“Reconciliation starts with understanding,” Arican said. “Our Reflect RAP gives us the structure to listen, learn and reflect on what reconciliation means for our employees.

“This is not about treating reconciliation as a single initiative or a document that sits on a shelf. It is about building awareness, strengthening relationships and creating the foundations for meaningful action over time.”

The Reflect RAP sets out commitments across relationships, respect and opportunities, with governance in place to support implementation across the business.

These commitments include increasing cultural awareness among employees, strengthening understanding of First Nations histories and cultures, building respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and exploring future opportunities in areas such as employment, procurement and community partnerships.

In the months ahead, Supagas will share resources, stories and internal engagement activities to help employees better understand the purpose of the RAP and the part they can play in bringing it to life.

Arican said the Reflect RAP would support Supagas in taking a considered, respectful approach to reconciliation.

“Supagas has always been a people-focused business, with teams working in communities across the country,” Arican said. “That gives us a responsibility to approach reconciliation with respect, openness and a willingness to learn.

“Our first RAP gives us the opportunity to build cultural awareness across our business, strengthen our connections with communities and take practical steps toward a more inclusive and respectful future.”

The launch of the Reflect RAP also supports Supagas’s broader commitment to responsible business leadership, community engagement and workplace inclusion.

That commitment is reflected in Supagas’s ‘Yes We Can’ ethos, which captures the company’s practical, people-focused approach to supporting customers, employees and communities. It is also reflected in the ‘Together We Can’ Community Engagement Program, which gives Supagas a clearer framework for supporting community organisations and local initiatives in ways that align with its values, national footprint and ability to make a practical difference.

As Supagas takes this next step in its reconciliation journey, the business will continue to prioritise learning before action, understanding before implementation, and ensuring future initiatives are guided by respectful engagement and local context.
